Smink Group designs, fabricates and installs high-quality process systems and equipment to transport high-purity gases en liquids. Smink Group operates in the High-purity discipline where orbital welding (a welding technology that is used for high-quality pipe connections) is a rock-hard requirement.
We work for the pharmaceutical industry, biotechnology industry, research institutions, universities, semiconductor industry, high-end food industry, the petrochemical and chemical industries and even the aerospace industry.
The Smink Group consists of 4 business units, each with their own specialties.
Smink Orbital Processing (SOP)
Planning, fabrication and on site installation of piping and process modules for pharmaceutical and biological processing and the high-end food industry .
Smink High Purity Facilities (SHF)
On site installation of piping, modules and machine parts for transport and control of Ultra High Pure gasses.
Smink High Purity Systems (SHS)
Manufacturing of stainless steel piping systems, from simple connecting pipelines and small assemblies to complete gas mixing systems, modules and machine parts for transport and control of Ultra High Pure gasses and liquids.
Smink Sustainable Systems (SSS)
Production of UHP gas-and liquid distribution and handling systems either “build to print “or developed in house. These systems are built in orbital welded stainless steel under clean room conditions and are supplied to OEM’s in the Semiconductor and LED industry.
Complimentary to our manufacturing teams Smink also has an engineering dept. which consists of experienced mechanical/process engineers and draftsmen. In close consultation with the customer they are able to identify their needs and translate these in to the User Requirement Specifications (URS) and Functional Design Specifications (FDS) and finally a fully functioning system. In other words we can supply installations from initial request right through to handover.
With locations in Veghel and Kerkrade the Smink Group has in total 450 m2 of calibrated cleanroom, which has been ISO 6 (10,000 ppm) certified and where we produce with ISO 7 conditions . In these areas, orbitally welded assemblies (the so-called weld Assy), high end gas panels and vacuum components are manufactured under cleanroom conditions.
Furthermore Smink has 2000m2 of workshops where piping assemblies and pipe skids can be prefabricated.
Besides the welding tools our workshop has extensive facilities such as its own pickling and passivation room and an ultrasonic bath. Products can be electro polished (EP) up to an RA value of 0.4 microns. Smink also has automated tube cutting and bending machines.
Smink is very proud of its well skilled passionate and motivated workforce. All technical employees have a VCA (SCC) diploma and the required welding certificates.
Smink also has many years of experience with on-site work, examples are pipework and project and construction management. Our experts ensure that the full system (including pumps, valves, control valves and other accessories and components) is installed and mounted correctly.
